Top 10 most popular new car first drives on whatcar.com

Despite the public relations issues that Tesla CEO Elon Musk has caused the American manufacturer in recent months, WhatCar? readers’ interest in its electric cars has not been dulled, as evidenced by our first drive of the forthcoming Model 3 garnering the most reads in October, marking its third consecutive showing in this list. Meanwhile, another electric car due in 2019, the Kia e-Niro, was the fourth most popular.

A measure of the Nissan Qashqai’s enduring popularity is evident in its second- place ranking, generated by the addition of a new 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Growing interest in super-SUVs can be seen in the 503bhp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s seventh-placed ranking and the new Lamborghini Urus’s taking of 10th.
