Most popular reviews on What Car? this month

Several electric cars made big waves among our top 20 last month, with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 having moved nine places up our list, from 20th to ninth position, the Kia e-Niro from ninth to fourth place, and the Tesla Model 3 from eighth to third place. The Model 3 was recently revealed to have been the UK’s best-selling new car in September, with more than 6800 units sold, which may have accounted for its sudden spurt up our rankings.

Elsewhere, the Toyota Yaris Cross was a new entrant in our top 20, having been reviewed and promoted on our daily newsletters at the end of August, while the Volkswagen ID.4 also made it into our ranking – no doubt helped by improving discounts which, at the time of writing, can save potential buyers up to £1251 if they use our free New Car Buying service.

While some models rise, of course, others must fall, and last month the Skoda Kamiq small SUV sunk from seventh to 14th position, while the Nissan Qashqai and Dacia Duster dropped off from the top 20 entirely.

We could be heading for a new leader, too, because while the Volvo XC40 typically generates thousands more pageviews compared with the second-place car, the continuing rise of the Volkswagen ID.3 narrowed that gap to just 626 pageviews last month.
