New Car Buying Marketplace Insights – August

New Car Buying: cars generating the most leads from buyers at whatcar.com

Having dropped significantly last time, this month the Kia e-Niro – a former What Car? Car of the Year – rebound back to fifth place, helped in part by discounts increasing to up to £1280 at the time of writing.

Elsewhere, having garnered lots of attention from potential buyers, the Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV this time fell down to 12th position, perhaps because no Target Price discounts are currently available. Another Skoda continued its rise, though, with the Karoq family SUV moving up a further two places compared with last month, to sit in sixth place. The Karoq currently has some of the most generous discounts in the family SUV market, with savings of up to £3326.

It was Volkswagen, however, which took the gong for having the most number of models represented within our top 20, with the ID.3 electric family car joined by the T-Cross, T-Roc and Tiguan SUVs as well as the Volkswagen Golf.

Among this month’s new entries was the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car, which entered the top 20 despite no savings being available. This car has proved popular both among regular visitors to Whatcar.com and viewers on our YouTube channel, so it’s hardly surprising to see potential buyers considering it.
