New Car Buying Marketplace Insights – January

New Car Buying: cars generating the most leads from buyers at whatcar.com

The effect of being named as our Car of the Year hits hard once again, with the Dacia Sandero climbing well into the top 10, despite minimal Target Price discounts on what is already Britain’s cheapest new car. Elsewhere, the Skoda Kamiq climbs from 15th to 10th position, no doubt helped by discounts of up to £3221, and Target PCP prices starting from as little as £160 per month.

Skoda’s sister brands Volkswagen and Seat together take up almost half of our list this month, with each having four models represented, showing the value of consistent discounts. Nothing can top the Volvo XC40, it seems, which was the best-selling car through our New Car Buying platform in 2020 by some margin.
