Most Searched-For Brands - April 2019

Top 20 most searched-for new car reviews by brand on whatcar.com

BMW usurped Volkswagen as the most searched-for brand on whatcar.com during March. This was a big sales month, because of the number plate change, although total sales were 3.4% down on 2018. BMW was the fifth-best-selling brand, while sixth-placed Audi was the second most searched-for. Market leader Ford ranked sixth in the popularity stakes.

Punching well above their weight were Seat, Skoda, Volvo, Jaguar and Suzuki, with their search rankings above their market share positions. In time, this interest should yield an improved market share.

The brands worst suffering the reverse effect – more sales than interest – are Vauxhall, Ford and Toyota.
