An Electric Vehicle (EV) Was Crowned Overall Champion At The What Car? Car Of The Year Awards, For The First Time

What Car? has named the Kia e-Niro electric vehicle as its 2019 Car of the Year during its 42nd annual awards ceremony, held in association with Warranty Direct and BNP Paribas Cardif.

Victory for the e-Niro, which has a Real Range of 253 miles, not only represents the first time Kia has taken the top prize at the ceremony. But, represents the first time an electric vehicle (EV) has taken the crown too.

This is not to take away from the other category winners, however. In total, 25 category awards were handed out to a whole host of exceptional cars. See the list below.
